About Barnwell, AL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Barnwell is Baldwin County, Alabama community that is located in the southern portion of the county. This community is unincorporated, and it is found along US Highway 98. Some of the area’s municipal services are provided by nearby Fairhope, which is located about eight miles north of Barnwell. Foley is also located near this community, situated approximately 12 miles to the east, also along U.S. Highway 98.

As a populated place that is considered neither a census-designated place nor an incorporated community, Barnwell is not home to any notable attractions.  However, there are several attractions located in the nearby communities of Fairhope and Foley that may interest residents and visitors alike. Fairhope is home to several popular golf courses, including Rock Creek Golf Club and Quail Creek Golf Course. Also found in Fairhope is the Oak Hollow Farm, which is a popular event and wedding venue in the area.

Foley is also home to some notable attractions. The City of Foley Railroad Museum & Archives and Model Train Exhibit features a variety of railroad memorabilia in a restored train depot.  Camping is popular here at the Anchors Aweigh RV Resort and Bella Terra RV Resort. Other popular destinations include the Holmes Medical Museum and Greenlakes Golf Club.

Barnwell’s close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico’s northern coast makes it especially vulnerable severe weather, such as hurricanes. Hurricanes Frederic, Ivan, and Katrina resulted in massive damage and flooding to region. The storms all hit in September when Barnwell was finally getting a break from the hot and humid weather of the summer. In addition to home storm protection, Barnwell residents will need to have an efficient air conditioner in place to keep them safe from dangerous conditions, and a heat pump or furnace may be needed when winter weather gets chilly.
